The Area
We are between Kelowna and Vernon (approximately 25 minutes from the Kelowna Airport). There are many different things to do in the area. Below, we have a link of activities and places to see that are all within an hour of Camp Kerfoot.
Golf
We have a 9-hole golf course at the Camp but there are many other golf courses in the area.
Gallaghers Canyon Golf & Country Club. Located in the north end of Kelowna in the suburb of Rutland, this 27-hole course has been called one of the best courses in Canada. Click here for more information.
Okanagan Golf Course - The Quail Course. Located across from the Kelowna Airport, this 18-hole course also has a great reputation and is 20 minutes away from us. Click here for more information.
Predator Ridge Golf Resort. Located just outside the south end of Vernon, this 18-hole course offers golfers dramatic scenery of the Okanagan Valley. Click here for more information.
Mountain Biking
This is one of the best landscapes in Canada for mountain biking. Here you can ride through all levels of forested trails and desert terrain. Wildhorse Canyon, Crawford Estates and Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park offer great views of the valley. Another option is to go up the chairlift and ride down the trails that wind through Silver Star Mountain.
Silver Star Mountain. Located on north-end of Vernon, this resort opens up its ski runs to hikers and mountain bikers in the summer. Click here for more information.

Wineries
There are more than a dozen wineries within an hour of the Camp. Click here for more a map of wineries in the area. The following wineries are all within minutes of Camp Kerfoot; Grey Monk Estate Winery, Blue Mountain Vineyard & Cellars, Stag's Hollow Vineyard & Winery, Hawthorn Mountain Vineyards, and Wild Goose Vineyard & Winery.
Provincial Parks
There are more than 14 provincial parks in the area. The following is a list of provincial parks that are within an hour's drive of Camp Kerfoot.
Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. Located 6 km south of Vernon on Kalamalka Lake. This fine example of north Okanagan grassland is dotted with ponderosa pine and groves of Douglas-fir. The sloping, paved trail which wanders down to the beaches, is filled with informative signs that let you know about the flora and fauna along the trails. It's a great park for mountain biking, however, the parking lots are a fair distance from the beaches. Click here for more information.
Bear Creek Provincial Park. This popular park is situated in the Central Okanagan Basin on the west side of Okanagan Lake 6 km west of Kelowna. The park features lakeside camping, over 400 metres of sandy beaches and 15 km of spectacular, well-marked hiking trails. A picturesque canyon has been carved into the bedrock by Bear Creek tumbling onto a cottonwood-lined delta. Click here for more information.
Fintry Provincial Park. Located 34 km south of Kelowna on the opposite side of Okanagan Lake from Camp Kerfoot, this park offers visitors nearly 2 km of waterfront property. On over 360 acres, the park has a great the Canyon trail and view a variety of birds, small mammals, deer and bighorn sheep in the higher regions. Click here for more information.
Kentucky Alleyne Provincial Park. Although this park isn't in the area, it's a perfect place to stop when driving to and from Vancouver. The park is just outside of Merritt on the highway 5A (Okanagan Connector). Located in the heart of cattle country, the rolling grasslands and dry open forest surround the sparkling turquoise water of Kentucky and Alleyne Lakes. Click here for more information.
